Large ice crystals indicate that the product is highly diluted, and they are almost always present in products that come in a jar. You can tell if a product has large ice crystals by looking at the bottom of the jar. If you see large chunks of ice, the product is highly diluted.

A large number of really big ice crystals is a sign that your product has been frozen. But while that’s not necessarily a bad thing for some products, it can be a problem for products that need to be kept in a controlled temperature environment.

Large ice crystals in a product indicates that it’s not hydrating enough for your skin. If you have dry skin, ice crystals may not be visible because the skin may not be able to produce enough water to create them.
