Stalin was a charismatic man and was able to win over the hearts of his people with emotional speeches that centred around his plans to improve the lives of the people. He did this in order to gain their trust and to make them feel like he was working for their best interests.

Stalin's main method of staying in power was through terror. He used the secret police to punish his enemies. He also had the complete control of the media and education systems so that he could get the people to believe that he was doing the right things for them.

Stalin was feared by many in his country and was able to stay in power because of his use of terror. He was able to use people’s fear to his advantage to stay in power. Although he remained in power for many years, his use of terror was not only morally wrong, but it was also not sustainable.

Stalin was able to stay in power because he was a ruthless leader and very effective dictator. He was able to stay in power for so long because he was able to control his people and use fear to do so. He was able to control his people because he was able to control those who had power.
