Marge becomes addicted to the slot machines in Mr Burns' new casino, where Homer gets a job as a blackjack dealer. Elsewhere, Bart opens his own casino in the treehouse while Mr Burns slowly goes mad in his penthouse, letting his nails and hair grow and wearing tissue boxes as slippers.

"The Simpsons" was a cultural phenomenon before it became a TV show. The cartoon was first created by Matt Groening, a cartoonist, and writer, who was born and raised in Portland, Oregon, the eldest of six children. At school, Groening became good friends with Mark Erlich, a boy in his class.

Springfield is famous as the fictional hometown of The Simpsons, and it’s a great example of a fictional place with a real-world counterpart. Springfield is a town in Illinois, but the “Springfield” on The Simpsons is a parody of the real-world Springfield.

" $pringfield (Or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Legalized Gambling) " is the tenth episode of Season 5 . During a town meeting, Principal Skinner pitches the idea of opening a casino. Mr. Burns adopts this notion and builds the "Mr. Burns' Casino." Homer takes a job as a blackjack dealer and Marge takes up gambling.
