If in an emergency you had to park a lift truck on an incline how would you leave it?

One way that parking a forklift differs from parking an ordinary vehicle is that the forklift simply cannot handle inclines. ... In fact, the parking brake should not be trusted even on small slopes; if you need to park on a small incline, make sure that you chock your wheels.

The most important thing to remember when trying to drive a lift truck up an incline is to leave it in neutral, but on an incline, that’s not always possible. If you can't leave the truck in neutral, try to leave it in first gear.

If I had to park a lift truck on an incline I would set the brake and put it in neutral so that it wouldn’t roll. I would then release the parking brake and put the transmission in drive.
