So moving your router to a different location on the ground floor can sometimes do the trick. You can run an Ethernet cable from the ground floor to someplace on the first floor. Use the cable to connect a Wireless Access Point to the router. You will get full bandwidth upstairs.

So the best way to fix this is to get a wifi extender. A wifi extender will do exactly what it sounds like, extend your wifi signal across the building. Wifi extenders will plug into a power source in one room and will connect to your router via an ethernet cable.

If your wifi router is on the first floor and you’re trying to get wifi on the third floor, there are a few things you can do to fix it. First, make sure your wifi router is in a central location. If your bedroom is on the third floor, you may have a hard time getting a strong signal.
