The first thing you should do is check the breaker to make sure it’s not tripped. If it’s not tripped,  ’ll need to check the fuse box. There is usually a fuse for the window unit but if it’s blown, you’ll need to replace it

The fan in a window ac unit is the most important component. It’s the one that pulls air into the unit and it’s the one that gets the most wear and tear. You can fix it by replacing the fan and making sure the electric cord is securely fastened to the window unit.

To fix the fan in a window ac unit, you’ll need to unplug the unit and remove the screws holding the grill in place. You’ll then need to remove the screws holding the fan in place and detach the wiring connections for the fan motor.

First, unplug the unit. Then, remove the vent cover and check that the fan is not blocked with dust or debris. Next, remove the fan blades and clean them with a vacuum or soft cloth. Make sure that the blades are clean and that the unit is cool before replacing the blades.

How to fix a window air conditioner is a question we get asked frequently. Whether you have a window unit that's not cooling as well as it once did or it's just not cooling at all, you'll need to troubleshoot and diagnose the issue before you can fix it.
