The HP Pavilion dv6 uses the standard Realtek audio driver. The sound device can be accessed via the Sound Manager applet in the Windows Control Panel. This application allows you to adjust the volume, select output devices, and access the Equalizer.

If you're experiencing audio problems on your HP laptop, you can use the HP Audio Troubleshooter to diagnose and fix the problem. This troubleshooter works for any HP laptop with a built-in microphone.

Right-click the volume icon on the computer screen and select "Adjust Audio Properties". In the "Speaker Settings" area at the bottom of the pop-up screen, click "Advanced". Then select "Laptop Speakers". Click "Apply" and then close the box. The sound should now be restored.
