To fix a laptop charger port, you need to first identify the source of the problem. If the power jack is connected to the motherboard, you can easily remove and replace it. On the other hand, if the power jack goes soldered to the motherboard, you'll have to desolder it and replace it with a good one.

There are two types of power outlets in laptops - one is a 20-pin power socket and the other is a 24-pin power socket. The 24-pin socket is more common and can be found in most modern laptops. However, if you have an older laptop, it might have a different socket.

To fix the power socket, first turn off the laptop and unplug all the cables connected to it. Then, open the laptop and remove all the screws from the bottom of the laptop. After removing all the screws, lift the plastic cover of the laptop and take out the screw that holds the power socket in place.
