To stain wood a darker, yet still more natural color, give vinegar a try! You can use either balsamic vinegar or apple cider vinegar, depending on the color you prefer. If you scrub the vinegar in with a wire brush, it will take this great wood DIY to the next level!

This is a super simple fix if you have the time to do it. All you need to do is use a sanding block and sand off a few layers of the paint. It’s as simple as that.

As long as you sand the wood with at least a 150 grit sandpaper, you can use acrylic paint on stained wood.
