The first thing you want to do is determine whether or not your keyboard is attached to your keyboard base or your motherboard. If your keyboard is attached to the base, then you just need to reconnect and secure the ribbon connector to your keyboard. If your keyboard is attached to the motherboard then you need to replace the keyboard or the motherboard.

Use compressed air to blow out any debris between the keys and the keyboard

The HP laptop keyboard is attached to the motherboard. If the keyboard is not working, it may be because the cable is broken or it may be because the motherboard has died. For this, you must take the laptop to a technician to check the motherboard.

Most of the time, the keyboard can be fixed by cleaning the keys. To clean the keys, you’ll want to take a dry paper towel and wipe the keys off. Make sure that you get under the keys as well.

You can send your laptop back to the manufacturer, and they will replace your keyboard. This will be at least a couple of months and will cost you a lot of money.
