Dimples in vinyl flooring are caused by small amounts of moisture trapped under the vinyl tiles. You can remove the dimples by removing the vinyl tiles and drying out the area with a dehumidifier, a fan and even a hair dryer.

Vinyl flooring has a natural dimple effect during installation, whereby the flooring appears to have a slight depression in the centre. This is a result of the manufacturing process and is not a fault. The flooring is easy to lay and should provide years of use and enjoyment.

If your floor is vinyl, you can fix a dimple by putting a layer of floor wax over the dimple. This will smooth it out and fill it in. You could also try using a hot glue gun to fill it in. You just want to make sure you don’t burn yourself when using the glue gun.

The dimple is the effect of the flooring being pushed down into the foam underlayment. If you have the correct amount of underlayment, the dimple is not a bad thing. In fact, it is a good thing.

The Dimples are formed due to the expansion and contraction of the vinyl flooring during the installation process.  The expansion and contraction of the vinyl flooring is caused by the different temperature in the environment during the installation process and the different temperature in the environment after the installation process.
