The most common cause of an overflowing toilet is a faulty flapper. The flapper is the rubber piece that covers the hole in the bottom of the toilet's tank. When the flapper is in place, it keeps the tank's water from flowing into the bowl.

If you have a toilet that keeps running, it’s probably just a matter of adjusting the float ball that controls the water valve. There’s a screw in the center of the float ball that can be adjusted to make the ball rise higher or lower in the tank.

To fix an overflowing toilet, turn off the water supply to the toilet by shutting off the valve on the wall behind the toilet. Next, flush the toilet to drain as much water from the bowl as possible. Remove the toilet tank cover.

The toilet water overflow is a common problem that can be fixed easily with a few simple steps. The first thing you need to do is to take note of the water level in your toilet bowl. Once you’ve done that, you need to determine which is the highest water level in the bowl.
