For a large hole in a wall, it may be easiest to cut the tile out and replace it with a new one. If you don't have the skills or patience to fix the tile, you can hire a professional to do it for you.

If you have a large hole in your wall, you can try a few different things to fix it. You can patch it with a piece of plywood or MDF board. You can also use spackle to fill the hole in the wall.

The wall needs to be repaired and regrouted. The grout is the substance that holds the tiles to the wall. Without it, the tiles simply fall off. It can be regrouted and need to be re-levelled and re-grouted.

Step 1 Protect bath with drop sheets.

Step 2 Wearing safety goggles and gloves, use hammer and cold chisel to knock out broken tiles

Step 3 Mix 4 parts water to 1 part BondCrete.

Step 4 Mix Sand & Cement mix with water to make cement render.

Caulk is best suited for patching small holes on ceramic tiles, not large holes. Look for a blend of acrylic/latex and silicone for best results. Silicone adheres better to ceramic tile than acrylic, but the addition of acrylic allows the caulk to be painted.
