How to fix a broken zip?

If the zip comes apart after you have fastened it all, then the slider is loose. You will need to undo the zip as much as you can and squeeze the top (with the puller) and the bottom plates together gently with pliers.

 

If the slider has come off one side of the zip, move it to the bottom of the track and push it back in. You may need a tool like a screwdriver to push it back in.

If the zip is stuck, it may have debris in it. Clean it out and try again. If that doest fix it, a little bit of petroleum jelly will help ease the slider.

 

If none of the above work, then you are likely to require a new zip completely.
