If the keycap is loose but still attached to the laptop, it can often be fixed by pressing down on the keycap. If the keycap re-attaches, a snap while pressing the key down is heard. If this does not fix the issue, we suggest removing the key so it can be re-attached. The re-attachment process is detailed below.

The keyboard is the most important component of the HP laptop, as it is the input device that allows you to navigate through the operating system and input text into any application that you are using. This means that any fault in the keyboard will have a direct effect on your ability to use your laptop.

Take out the key. Use a flat-blade screwdriver to remove the key. Take a straw. Cut a little more than an inch from a clean plastic straw. Fold and insert. Fold the straw in half lengthwise and insert it into the bottom of the faucet. Cut to fit. Replace the keyboard keys.

First of all, make sure that the laptop is completely turned off. If you have a laptop with a removable battery, take the battery out and leave it out, then plug in the power cord. If it’s not a removable battery, unplug the power cable while the laptop is off.

A few tips to fix a broken key on your HP laptop. 1. You can use a toothpick or a pin to stick it back in. 2. You can also use a pair of tweezers. 3. Take the key out with the tweezers and then use the toothpick or pin to push it back into the groove.
