When a compact breaks, you can fix it by mixing a little bit of clear nail polish with a little bit of rubbing alcohol. Then, just paint the mixture on top of the broken powder and allow it to dry. You can also dab a bit of clear nail polish under the eyeshadow pan if the compact breaks.

If the shadow is broken, the first thing you want to do is scrape out as much as you can using your finger or a butter knife. Next, you can use a few drops of rubbing alcohol to remove the rest of the shadow. Put the compact into a plastic bag and seal it.

The only two ways I know of fixing a broken eyeshadow compact are to either take it to an industrial grinder and have it ground into a powder (for less than $5), or to take it to a professional repairer who can weld it back together.

Eyeshadow palettes are often quite expensive and you don’t want to waste even a single eyeshadow. The most common reason why eyeshadow compacts break is that the plastic tray inside the palette is not strong enough.

If you want to get the most out of your eyeshadow and to make it look like new again, you need to get some rubbing alcohol and clean the pan. If you don’t have rubbing alcohol, you can use any other kind of alcohol. Then, get a paper towel or a clean cloth and a little bit of water.
