To change flowering plants from 12-hours on / 12-hours off to 18-hours on / 6-hours off, you’ll have to change the lighting in the room to a 12-hour photoperiod. This means that the lights will be on for 12-hours a day and off for 12-hours a day.

One of the first questions I get asked about is how to change flowering plants from 12 hrs during the day and 12 hrs at night to 24 hrs. Many people don’t realize that this is a very easy process that can be done by changing the light cycles of the plant and getting it used to longer periods of darkness.

When changing the photoperiod of your plants, make the change gradually. Make the change in the evening, and if the plant is flowering, leave the lights on for 12 hours. If the plant is not flowering, leave the lights on for 14 or 15 hours.
