You should give your employer a minimum of two weeks' notice if you have a contract of employment. If you don't have a contract of employment you would need to give your employer two weeks' notice. You can give your employer as much notice as you like, but the minimum is two weeks.
If you are an at-will employee which most of us are, you can quit at any time for any reason with no notice. You can also be fired at any time for any reason with no notice. You do not have the right to any notice.
As far as notice goes, you are obliged to give your employer one week's notice if you have no contract. If you have a contract, you should check the terms and conditions of your contract to see how much notice you need to give.
