The answer is 1. You are the only applicant unless you have dependant children.

I have two siblings and I’m the last of three children so I’m going to put two family members. You can select more than two family members if you have more than two. My wife and I are also joint owners on our business so I’m going to select both of us as well.

There are fewer than six members of your family who (1) are 18 years of age or older and (2) all live together in the same home. Your application must be submitted with the most recent tax return filed by your family.

The number of family members who are involved in the application is key. A program officer who’s reviewing an application will look to see how many family members are in the application. If there’s just you, you’ll look like an orphan.

The number of family members included in your application should be listed in Part 1, Section B, #4. For example, if you are the main applicant and you’re in a relationship, and you and your partner have one child together, then you should select "one or two.
