How is a switch selected as a root bridge for spanning tree if the bridge priorities are the same?

The root bridge is selected by manually configuring its bridge priority to a low value. 32768 is the default value out of a range from 0 to 61440. If all switches in a single spanning tree have the same bridge priority, the switch with the lowest MAC address will become the root bridge.

If the bridge priorities are equal, then the switch with the lowest MAC address is the root bridge. If all of the bridge priorities and MAC addresses are the same, then the switch with the lowest bridge ID is picked as the root bridge.

A switch is selected as a root bridge if it has the lowest MAC address. If there is a tie, the switch with the lowest bridge ID is selected. If there is still a tie, the switch with the lowest host ID is selected.
