The best way to get rid of a callus is to use a pumice stone and soak your foot in warm water. There are also products you can use to help soften the callus so you can get rid of it faster, including a special lotion you can buy at the drugstore.

A callus is a type of dry, hard skin that develops on the bottom of the feet and toes. It can form for a number of reasons, including rubbing or pressure from your shoes or when you go barefoot. Calluses are usually painless and don’t cause any problems, although they can be unsightly.

A common misconception is that you can get rid of a callus by shaving it off. This is a bad idea because it can lead to infection and possible skin tearing. A better idea is to soak the callus in warm water and then file it down with a pumice stone.

A callous is an area of thick, hardened skin that can develop on the soles of your feet or on the palms of your hands as a result of friction, pressure, or repeated rubbing against a surface. Calluses are typically caused by friction from repetitive movements or pressure from an ill-fitting footwear.
