Whirlpool Washer Error Code E01 F06

Whirlpool Washer Error Code E01 F06

Whirlpool duet washer displays error code E01 F06 and as a result fails to operate, or to start any mode. The power supply to the device is normal but a certain buzz of voltage is heard.

What does error code E01 F06 mean?

The error shows an interaction of two boards:

  • CCU (central module);
  • MCU (engine control microcircuit).

That is, there is no connection between them. It’s through the two that signals on the initiation of a program and transition to the next are transmitted, and because of the error, the usual working is affected.

What do you need to do first?

To reload the device, to the following:

  • unplug the power cord;
  • wait for 5 minutes;
  • switch on the machine.

If the error still appears, take cardinal actions.

Cardinal actions

Error code E01 F06 is considered hard-diagnosable because it affects two main modules, CCU and the MCU. It due to several reasons which can be resolved differently.

Wire connections breakage

When the Whirlpool duet washer is operating normally, the engine board and the central control unit exchange data, sending signals. However, when the process is interrupted, error code E01 F06 appears. In such a scenario, check the connectors and the wiring. To access the CCU;

  • disconnect the machine from the mains;
  • untwist the three screws on the back wall of the top panel;
  • remove the unscrewed cover;
  • find the main module in the upper corner of the front.

Connect ad disconnect each connector one after another. When the connections are in their places, remove the back panel to gain access to the motor control board, and repeat the actions. In the end, connect the machine and check whether the error code reappears. Just in case, test the cable continuity between the CCU (MI3, MS2) and the MCU with a multimeter. At all points of the harnesses and windings, the resistance should be 8.5 – 14 Ω.

The defective motor control module

Various components of the motor control module may be burnt, damaged, or corroded. Check them for blackening, melted spots, exfoliation, and if present, twist, solder, or replace the damaged parts as appropriate.

Damage to the main control board

As the manufacturer notes, it is only advisable to reinstall it. So if you find black dots and burned paths, buy a new element.

To remove the board and eliminate error code E1 F6, switch off the machine, remove the front panel, and remove the screws that hold the cover. Then slide it back and lift it. Unscrew the dispenser, find the module W10427967. Dismantle and replace it.
