Siemens Dishwasher Error Code E14

Siemens Dishwasher Error Code E14

Why E14 error code occurs

The modern appliances have a water heater. The heater serves to bring the cold water from the source into the optimum temperature for dishwashing. The water is run through a heating circle until it attains the required temperature.

While the water is running into the heater for heating, there’s a specific level that the water must not pass. Just like cloth washing machines have a switch that controls water level, Siemens dishwashing machines have a special sensor that regulates water flow. If the sensor fails, the dishwasher shows an error E14 on the screen.

A loose system could also be the cause of error E14. Also, the formation of cracks can lead to leaks in the system that could result in the system displaying error E14.

Another cause of error E14 is the malfunction of the control module or the inlet valve. This is, however, an infrequent cause of the error.

If it’s neither of the above reasons, then there could be a problem with the electric part of the appliance. The circuit connects the intake valve and the water level sensor to the control module. If there’s a problem with the circuit, error E14 may display.

Fixing error E14

Error code E14 of the Siemens dishwasher can be resolve using several techniques as follows:

  • Reboot

This is perhaps the first and obvious step for every error. Turn off the dishwasher and disconnect it from its mains. Wait for about fifteen minutes, then reconnect and restart the appliance. If the error doesn’t clear, proceed to the following steps.

  • Eliminate excess pressure

To get rid of the excess pressure, turn off the device, and then incline the appliance to the left side at an angle of about 20 degrees. If eliminating excess pressure doesn’t reset the error, check the inner parts as follows.

  • Check the water flow sensor.

If the contacts of the detector have been oxidized or burnt-out error, E14 could show up. Use a multi-meter to check the contacts. In case of any abnormalities, clean or replace the contacts. If the sensor itself has a problem, it can only be replaced as there is no available option for its repair.

  • Check the circuit

If the above process fails to reset error E14, it’s wise to check the circuit to ensure that the connection of water from the flow sensor to the control module is right.
