Insulin and glucagon are two hormones that work together to regulate blood glucose levels in the body. Glucagon is produced in the pancreas and is designed to raise blood glucose levels and tells the liver to release stored glucose to the bloodstream. Insulin is a hormone that’s produced by the pancreas and is designed to lower blood glucose levels and helps to keep blood sugar levels stable by acting like a key that lets glucose into cells for use as energy.
